SYRACUSE, N.Y. -
After nearly 71 minutes of missed opportunities, Syracuse Men's Soccer (4-2-1) finally capitalized on a goal scored by freshman defenseman Kamal Miller, making the score 2-1, and securing the win over Binghamton (5-0-3) Tuesday night. The final score of the game was 3-1. Miller found the back of the net after the ball rebounded off of Binghamton's junior goalkeeper Robert Moews. The goal was Miller's first of his collegiate career.

"It was kind of crazy how the goal went in," Miller said. "There was a lot of bouncing around, but I stuck with the play, it ended up on my foot, and I put it in the net."

Orange Responds to Early Deficit

The Orange started off the game down by one to Binghamton, after Bearcats' forward Pascal Trappe connected with the ball off a cross by forward Logan Roberts in the 18th minute of the game.

But, the Orange retaliated with a first-half goal of its own. Freshman defenseman Miles Robinson headed the ball in after a free kick by sophomore midfielder Julian Buescher in the 31st minute. The goal was Robinson's second goal of his career with the Orange. The freshman scored his first collegiate goal in the Syracuse's previous game at Wake Forest.

"We just had to keep knocking on the door, keep trying to push our way through their defense and score," Robinson said. "We had most of the ball so I was confident we were going to score eventually."

Syracuse Forward Strikes Final Blow

The final goal of the game came in the 83rd minute by senior forward Noah Rhynhart, with an assist from junior forward Ben Polk. The goal by Rhynhart assured a Syracuse victory as a crowd of 811 watched the Orange win in brisk weather.

"We knew we would be tested today," SU Coach Ian McIntyre said. "We needed to show the character and resilience at times, but also move the ball. So overall, I'm very happy. We normally don't win these games by two, so to get that third one...I'm going to say that was a good performance."
