Syracuse defeats St John's 9-8

Queens, N.Y --  On a very cold Saturday with snow still piled up on the sides of the field. the Syracuse Orange men lead 4-0 early, then held on to escape the St. John's Red Storm on Saturday, winning 9-8 in a lacrosse game many had expected to be a blowout.

With Spring Break underway in Syracuse, New York Area alumni and students on hand made the atmosphere almost as if the game was played in the Carrier Dome. After every Orange goal, the orange fans cheered "Let's go, Orange."

The Orange (4-1,1-0 ACC) went, just effectively enough to get out with the win. And when it was over, one SU player was heard to say, "We gotta get back on the bus."

The Orange men have now played four consecutive one-goal games, winning three. They're back in action Saturday, March 18th  at John Hopkins. St. John's (1-5, 0-0 Big East) hosts Drexel the same day and time.
