Jose Cuevas: Mayweather versus McGregor is actually going to be quite harmful for the sport of boxing. Let me tell you why. The last big megafight that brought a lot of public attention back to the sport of boxing was Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao that fight turned out to be quite a dud because Mayweather is a defensive genius the guy is a savante he made Manny Pacquiao miss all night. If he was able to do that to a man who's quite arguably the greatest offensive boxer of this generation, what is going to do to a man that has zero professional boxing experience. Yes, Conor McGregor is an excellent MMA fighter. However MMA and Boxing are two completely different sports. Now the financial aspect, a lot of people felt cheated because they paid 100 dollars for a fight that they were promised but never delivered, in Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao. How are they going to feel when they spend 89.95 on a fight where Mayweather is going to dominate. The guy is too good. He has disposed of everyone, including boxers that have been boxing since they have been babies. How are they going to feel after he dismantles Conor. And those casual fans that keep coming back to boxing hoping for more they are going to be left dissapointed and they're just going to give up completely.
