Well, two hours and 15 minutes before each game both teams are required to bring 24 footballs to be regulated by officials for each game. When that happens there are 12 primary balls and 12 back-up balls depending on the weather. That's a waste of time. Why not just have the [NFL] league provide the footballs before?
You would save so much time and there wouldn't be any controversy over which team is using what ball and how much they're inflated. It would all be regulated and there wouldn't be any time for any team on either side to mess with the balls, inflate them, deflate them or do whatever.
Look at the NBA, they provide every ball for each team. They ask that if the teams need more balls for whatever reason the league send them to them. So there's no issue as to whether a ball is inflated extra or deflated. I mean it's different because there is one ball used in each NBA game versus the NFL but the league provides it and it's never been an issue in the NBA. The NFL should just do the same thing.
