SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Forget about the Golden State Warriors and
the Cleveland Cavaliers. Those two teams two teams didn’t have to make any
changes in the offseason and they’d still b considered contenders for next
year’s finals. Let’s talk about the other teams, the less-stacked teams. The
teams like the New York Knicks who traded for Derrick Rose, the Brooklyn Nets
who acquired Jeremy Lin and the Chicago Bulls who stole Dwyane Wade from Miami.
But of all those teams who made huge changes in the
offseason, the Celtics are the biggest winners. Yes, they didn’t sign Kevin
Durant, but let’s be real – he wanted to win now and he couldn’t do that in Boston. But the Celtics did sign Al Horford – an all-star – who pairs well
with their other all-star, Isaiah Thomas. And they got rid of Evan Turner and
Jared Sullinger. Now, the Celtics won 48 games with those two players last
year. With Al Horford, they’re instantly a better team. They are projected to
be the second of third best team in the East to compete with the Cleveland
Cavaliers. No other team has made that big of an acquisition to make them that
much better in their conference or in the NBA. That’s why the Celtics are the
biggest winners so far in offseason.
