Newhouse BDJ masters candidate Alex Peebles a talented Syracuse athlete turned coach, continues to extend his career in sports as a journalist. The love for sports continued to sprout as he began his journey in basketball, baseball, hockey, and football. Pebbles was extremely active in sports throughout high school and college. He was infatuated with the game of football. He studied business administration at Alfred University while being a dedicated wide receiver and punt returner on the field. After graduating from college, Pebbles used his expertise in business to enter the sales industry.

Pebbles worked with 2 sports teams as a group sales rep, and group sales manager. Aside from being a full times sales associate, he devoted the rest of personal time to coaching high school football. After finishing his two year commitment in the sales industry, Pebbles found his way back to the field, this time joining the coaching staff that once assisted him down the field. Pebbles took on a leadership role that reflected his time as a player, now commanding the room as a coach at Alfred State University.

Pebbles spent one year in the coaching seat at Alfred State University. Being apart of the Alfred State University staff, came with perks including the opportunity to go back to school and further himself in education. Although, Alfred State University were given Pebbles the opportunity to achieve his masters degree, the program that was available to him didn't spark his interest. While finishing out the season as a coach at Alfred State University, Pebbles started to take a look in the direction of his parents law school alma mater, Syracuse University.

Pebbles, applied to Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School Of Public Communications. He received his acceptance in May of 2019, which brought his coaching career to a complete stop.

Newhouse BDJ Master's Student Alex Peebles says "You know, it's a lot of fun, and it's very rewarding. But at the end of the day, I'm not sure that's where I want to be. And now you know, I'm still trying to work through what I want to do with with journalism"

Today, Pebbles is dedicated to applying his business administration degree and his love for sports into a lifelong passion, as a journalist.
