SYRACUSE, N.Y., July 30, 2018 - Everyone stood
and removed their hats as 9-year-old, Lily Rapp, stepped up to the mound to
sing the national anthem at the NBT Bank Stadium for the Chiefs vs. PawSox
baseball game Monday night.
Although Rapp
was overwhelmed with nerves, she sang the entire song without making a mistake.
She then skipped off the field with the biggest grin on her face, as the crowd
remained standing- applauding her.
Rapp has been
singing since the day she can remember. When asked how she landed her first, big
debut at the Chiefs baseball game, Rapp said, “My grandma hooked me up with a
voice coach and she got me to do all this.”
Rapp started
going to Lori Chantelle, also known as “Miss Fabulous,” for voice lessons five
months ago. She came in as a shy, young singer, but since working with her, has
gained the confidence needed to perform at her first official gig Monday night,
according to Chantelle.
Chantelle said,
“I worked on confidence with Lily big time, because that will be the biggest
factor to the success I know she’s destined to have in the future.”
