Keir Chapman SYRACUSE, N.Y. — It’s rare to find a hospital with its own slogan. Crouse Hospital, however, has somehow found a way to capture all the fun and magic of a trip to the emergency room.
Their catchphrase “Take Me To Crouse,” can be found on both dugouts at NBT Bank Stadium. According to Kyle Fussner, manager of promotions and community relations for the Syracuse Chiefs, the tagline has adorned the stadium for three seasons.
Crouse uses the slogan for more than just baseball. It can be found in radio ads, TV ads, and anywhere the hospital advertises. Fussner said the line is meant to separate Crouse from other area hospitals. If he is to be believed, the hospital’s plan worked.
“It resonates with me,” Fussner said. “When someone says Crouse Hospital, the first thing I think of is ‘Take me to Crouse.’”
Save for some sociopaths, no one wishes an emergency room visit on anyone. However, if one is necessary, Crouse’s catchphrase creates a comforting feeling, as though they can help with any problem they face. If, for nothing else, Crouse found a lighthearted way to advertise a serious institution, not an easy feat by any stretch of the imagination.
