Alexander Brown is currently a sports agent that represents both NBA players and those overseas. He first obtained his certification in 2014 by paying $1500 and the rest was history. However, nowadays in order to become certified you must attend a review session in New York for a day and then take an exam the next day. Since becoming an agent, Brown has had to pay annual dues of $2500, a hefty increase since first joining the industry.
He thoroughly enjoys the nature of his work, from helping players get drafted to working daily retaining and obtaining clients. Although Brown originally wanted to get into football because there are more players, he chose the NBA because there is more money in regards to salary cap. While he says the business can be quite deceitful because of other agents projecting false hope unto players, that hasn’t stopped him from securing six guys from the latest draft class. They range from Colorado State to Western Illinois. Brown admits that the business isn’t as lucrative as one would think, which is why he is also an attorney.
